Answers to All Your Questions
How did you keep campers and staff safe in 2021?
Thanks to extensive planning and preparations of our staff and volunteers, and the partnership of all our families and staff, we had an incredibly successful summer in 2021 without a single detected case of COVID-19 â even on our pre-camp screenings.
We will remain vigilant and continue to follow best practices to provide a safe and joyous environment for your children in 2022.
What is the vaccination policy?
Eden Village will require all campers and staff to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by the first day of camp in 2022.
If there is a medical reason a camper is ineligible to receive a vaccine, their physician can a vaccine exemption request (form provided by camp) that will be reviewed by an outside medical advisor. The outside medical advisor will determine whether the medical exemption is valid and appropriate for the camp setting. The child will not be able to enroll until and unless an exemption has been granted or the family indicates that their child will comply with the vaccination policy.
No other exemptions will be considered.
What happens if I need to cancel?
We are offering full refunds for all families who cancel by March 15, 2022 or 30 days after your childâs bunk fills, whichever comes first.
I would love for my child to come for five weeks but itâs too expensive! Thatâs why we usually only come for two or three weeks.
Previous caps on financial aid for the five-week session have again been lifted this year and all financial aid will be entirely need based. We know the financial effects of Covid have been far-reaching, and we want to do everything possible to make the longer sessions possible for your child.
Whatâs happening with the Road Trip program?
Due to the challenges of travelling in a region with low vaccination rates and high rates of COVID transmission, we have made the difficult and sad decision to cancel our Food and Farm Road Trip (New Orleans) for 2022. In itâs place, we now offer the Eden Israel Experience.
In its place, we are working on an exciting new travel program for rising 11th graders. We will announce the destination, dates, and details in November.
In addition, we will continue our new 10th & 11th grade programs from Summer 2021, including:
During the 5 week July Session, we will again offer our Malchut program, a teen-centered, freedom-oriented, community-based program at camp! Malchut campers cook communal farm-to-table meals daily, explore new teen-only chugim, step into leadership roles, enjoying extended free time, and build a vibrant Jewish community together. Malchut isnât just another summer at camp. Malchut is a teen camp within a camp and like a âbest-ofâ culmination program tailored specially to the goals and needs of 10th and 11th graders.
During the 3 week August Session, we are again offering the Adirondack back-country camping and canoe trip. This rigorous program is 2 weeks long. There will be more information to follow about this amazing, rugged experience in the backcountry.
